Past cars: 135i, M5, 335d. The F10 550i is becoming my favorite from the list. Every high performance BMW has its quirks. All my past BMWs did, especially the 335d. However, they are all still great cars and BMW fixed a lot of the issues with recalls, warranty repairs, lawsuits, etc.

This is the v10 m5. It has all of the same problems as the V8 m3 with two extra cylinders worth of problems. The problem is you could buy a nice one for $30k and easily spend $30k in maintenance the first year. Or you could spend $0 on maintenance. Look up how much a full brake job with rotors, pads, and sensors costs for an m5.

The potential mechanic ghosts of this M5 (E60) worry me from the standpoint of one fix after another. I don't fear working on a car. I have done head gasket jobs, clutch replacement, rear end replacement and so on on the vehicles I've owned.
