The tank has a capacity of 58.5 litres so you are also filling (avoiding the pump cutting out) the pipe from the filler cap to tank. I personally don't understand why someone would do that. The diesel Mondeo goes quite far before the fuel light comes on ;-) And you'd have to have the pump going slow to not have it cut out and risk having diesel
